About the boat
Adrienne II is a lengthened German Frers Swan 651 with an extended transom, modified fin keel and a newer carbon-fibre rig. Originally built by Nautor in Finland in 1983, she has been extensively modified for bluewater passage-making and production use.
The boat features a Hallberg-Rassy-style glass windshield at the forward part of the cockpit which integrates the canvas dodger, making her well-suited to long ocean passages in variable conditions.
Adrienne II is owned by Gurra Krantz and chartered by 59° North Sailing. She is primarily used for the filming of the Swedish reality-TV show Över Atlanten, where celebrities sail the Atlantic under Gurra's command. Between TV seasons, 59° North runs one-off trans-Atlantic voyages aboard her.
Tim's connection
Tim sailed as crew aboard Adrienne II on the Season 9 transatlantic crossing from Pasito Blanco, Gran Canaria to St Martin in the Caribbean in February 2025. Nineteen days at sea with a celebrity cast and film crew aboard — roughly 2,800 nautical miles on a trade-wind route.
